Introduction
The Latvian War Museum is located in the old town of Riga, the capital of Latvia, adjacent to the Gunpowder Tower, a cylindrical arsenal built in the 14th century. The museum contains over 10,000 artifacts, including pictures, sand tables, models, guns, uniforms, and medals, from Latvian wars since the 14th century. The museum is one of the few multi-storey buildings, and all visitors can visit for free, learning about the twists and turns experienced by the Latvian people in their long struggle for national independence and democratic freedom through the historical context provided by the museum. It demonstrates the determination and courage of the Latvian people in pursuit of freedom, with historical events ranging from ancient wars to World War II.
