Introduction

Yanggakdo International Hotel is a high-end hotel co-owned by the North Korean government and France. It is located on Yanggak Island in the Taedong River in Pyongyang. The hotel has 1001 rooms and 1963 beds, meeting North Korea's special first-class standard and international five-star standard. These consist of 10 luxury suites, 23 deluxe rooms, 90 standard rooms, and 878 economy rooms. Additionally, the hotel facilities include a swimming pool, high-end bar, sauna, and gym. Staying at Yanggakdo Hotel, guests can enjoy the beautiful view of the entire Pyongyang city, and it's a designated hotel for foreign tourists. As the most luxurious hotel in North Korea, Yanggakdo International Hotel is surrounded by the Taedong River, completed in 1995, and considered one of the best places to view its scenery. Although the currently under-construction Ryugyong Hotel might replace Yanggakdo's position, this location has been chosen as the place to accommodate foreign leaders in the past. Therefore, staying here can offer an experience akin to that of a foreign head of state.
