Introduction

Lin Ben Yuan Garden Mansion is located in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It was built by the Lin Ben Yuan family and is one of the well-preserved garden mansion buildings in Taiwan. The building can be traced back to 1847 when the Lin Ben Yuan family rented a house in the north. Through the expansion of Lin Guohua and Lin Guofang, it became the residence of the Lin Ben Yuan family. In 1977, the Lin Ben Yuan family donated a part of the garden to the Taipei County Government (now New Taipei City Government) and it was opened to the public in 1982. The total area of Lin Ben Yuan Garden Mansion is approximately 6054 square meters and can be divided into "garden" and "mansion" parts. The garden is called the "Banqiao Lin Family Garden" and refers to the garden area outside the house. There are many houses and artificial landscapes in the garden, such as the Lai Qing Ge, the Moon Wave Water Pavilion, and the Ding Jing Tang. The mansion refers to the residence of the Lin Ben Yuan family, which is the three large houses on the west side of the garden. Currently, these three houses still belong to the "Lin's Ancestral Shrine Society" and require a guide to enter for visitation.
