Introduction

Located in Shimen District on the north coast of Taiwan, Lamei Li is a special coastal landscape known as "Green Rock Groove." These rock grooves were formed by the erosion of volcanic reef rocks left by the Datun Volcano eruption and long-term wave washing. During the winter northeast monsoon, green algae such as Enteromorpha, Ulva, and Cladophora thrive, making the landscape even more beautiful. Green Rock Groove only appears from April to May, and the algae disappears under the summer sun. During this short but beautiful season, Green Rock Groove often attracts professional photographers to capture the scenery and take wedding photos. However, the trampling of tourists has put Green Rock Groove in danger, so the North Observatory calls on tourists not to enter the groove area because it is slippery and dangerous. Visitors who go to Green Rock Groove to take pictures need to check the low tide time in the Shimen area that day to avoid missing the beautiful coastal scenery due to rising tides.
