Introduction

Vatnajökull Glacier is the largest glacier in Iceland, covering over 8% of the country. It is the second-largest glacier in Europe after Antarctica and Greenland glaciers. Located in southeast Iceland, Vatnajökull Glacier measures about 1,500 meters in altitude and its continuous flow is one of Iceland's unique landscapes. The TV series "Game of Thrones" utilized this location to capture its vast and magnificent visual landscape. In addition to the beautiful glaciers, this area also has lava fields, volcanic craters, and hot springs, giving Iceland the nickname "land of ice and fire". Today, Vatnajökull Glacier is flowing at a speed of 800 meters annually into relatively warmer valleys.
