Introduction

Located on the north side of Clarke Quay, the Singaporean government department MICA (Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts) is committed to promoting the development of the creative industries. Its five galleries, Art-2 Gallery, Element Artspace, Gajah Gallery, Tembusu Art Gallery and Y2 Arts, showcase contemporary Chinese paintings. MICA's building is very attractive with 911 colorful windows in shades of green, red, yellow, and blue, giving it a vibrant appearance. The interior design is primarily Neoclassical, with restored columns and a central courtyard, creating a brand new creative space. The ARTrium courtyard is air-conditioned and serves as a venue for various activities, earning it the nickname "Rainbow Cake of a Historical Landmark".
