Istana is the name of the Presidential Palace in Singapore, which comes from the Malay word for "palace" and has a history of 140 years since it was built. Previously, Istana was a white three-story mansion built during the British colonial period. Today, Istana features various architectural styles and is surrounded by exquisitely carved beads, giving it a classical atmosphere. The Presidential Palace is highly secure and guarded.
