Introduction

The oldest corridor bridge in Chinese history, called the Rainbow Bridge, was built during the Southern Song Dynasty in 1137 AD. The Rainbow Bridge is approximately 140 meters long and is one of the best-preserved and most perfectly designed corridor bridges in China, consisting of four piers and five arches connected by eleven pavilions. Many media outlets have referred to it as one of the most beautiful corridor bridges in China. The bridge was named after a Tang poem that reads "Two streams embrace like mirrors, twin bridges fall like rainbows." On both sides of the Rainbow Bridge, winding green waters and undulating mountains complement each other, creating a beautiful scenery.
