Introduction

Shixin Peak is one of the 36 small peaks of Huangshan, with an altitude of 1683 meters. Although it is not the most dangerous place in Huangshan, it is the first place that makes people feel the danger when climbing up from the back mountain. Therefore, reaching Shixin Peak can be called "the wonder of Huangshan at the beginning of faith". Shixin Peak faces the open sky on three sides. Standing on the uneven mountain rocks and holding onto the railing, you can see all kinds of strange peaks, cliffs, and precipices around you, which makes tourists who first come to Huangshan feel weak in the knees. The nearby mountain peaks also gather many famous pines of Huangshan, such as Jieyin Pine, Black Tiger Pine, Lianli Pine, Dragon Claw Pine, Wolong Pine, and Tanhai Pine, and so on. It is said that Huang Xi-yuan, a famous painter in the Song Dynasty, visited this peak from the Cloud Valley Temple and discovered the beauty of Shixin Huangshan, so he named it "Shixin". There is also a platform on the top of the peak, which was a place where ancient literati often came to climb the mountain, enjoy the scenery, and drink and play the zither. Jiang Tianyi, a national hero of the Ming Dynasty, once lived here and played the zither. Later, his descendant Jiang Litian excelled at poetry and the zither, and also lived here in seclusion. Therefore, Shixin Peak is also known as "Qintai".
