Three gourmet restaurants in Galle and Colombo

After eating 20-30 meals in Sri Lanka, we only ate at three restaurants! We highly recommend them to you.

Located by the famous Unawatuna Beach in Galle, this restaurant is rated number one locally by international travel websites. I absolutely love their lemon tea curry shrimp. Many foreigners ordered chicken skewers and steaks. The prices are relatively high for a Sri Lankan restaurant, but it's quite reasonable compared to prices in China, averaging just over 100 yuan per person. Remember to go early during peak season as there can be long queues.

Ministry of Crab

Located in Colombo, one of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. I am usually skeptical about such rankings because I have indeed eaten at many highly reputed restaurants with average taste. However, their pepper crab is truly delicious! The rich black pepper sauce and the fresh, meaty crab are really appetizing! The curry shrimp Calypot is also genuinely tasty. It originally comes with bread, but we asked the waiter to replace it with rice, and mixing it with the sauce was incredibly delicious! The average cost per person is less than 200 yuan.

The Gallery Café

The former studio of Geoffrey Bawa, the legendary father of Sri Lankan architecture, boasts an incredible sense of design. From the moment you step into the courtyard, it feels like entering a mysterious gallery exhibition hall, offering a very unique and grand experience. Highly recommended is the Pan-fried Modha, a dish of fish pan-fried in lemon butter sauce served with mashed potatoes, which tastes quite good.
