Recommended shopping in Sweden

In recent years, Gothenburg has been dedicated to creating a thriving design city with numerous local street designers, many of whom are also internationally renowned. The city boasts over 500 shops, where modern department stores coexist with independent boutiques, pedestrian areas, galleries, and arcades - all within a five-minute walk of each other, making the city vibrant.

Nordstan Shopping Center

Nordstan has around 200 stores, making it the largest and most diverse shopping center in Sweden. The mall offers a wide selection of top clothing and shoe brands, as well as cosmetics, home appliances, sports goods, books, jewelry, flowers, banks, newsstands, pharmacies, cafes, and restaurants. There are also frequent entertainment and performance events.

NK Nordiska Kompaniet Department Store

Located in the center of Gothenburg, this four-story department store mainly sells clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, leather goods, and home products, gathering a large number of well-known luxury brands from Sweden and around the world.

Haga District

This ancient town is home to a variety of different types of shops, including antiques, fashion, home goods, books, and more. There are also many cafes and restaurants. From August to October, there is a farmers' market every Saturday, and in December, there is a traditional Christmas market.

Kronhuset and Kronhusbodarna

Kronhuset, located behind Gustav Adolf Square, is the oldest building in Gothenburg. It was built in 1642 and was originally used for storing military supplies. Surrounding Kronhuset are the Kronhusbodarna, which consist of east and west wings built in 1750 and 1759 respectively. Today, the area is home to numerous craft shops offering glass, chocolate, candy, clocks, ceramics, leather goods, and more. The coffee and pastry shop here is also quite popular.
