Five must-do things on your first visit to Bruges

When people think of Belgium, they often think of Bruges. Canals run through the town like a string of pearls, earning it the nickname "Venice of the North". With cobblestone paths, brick archways, stone churches, and picturesque bridges, it's nearly impossible to take a bad photo. Swans on the water, horse-drawn carriages in the park, and daffodils in bloom make it almost magical.

Vineyard Royal Beguinage

If you wake up early, you can enjoy the tranquility at the secluded beguinage. Arriving before the crowds at 10 AM will provide you with extra enjoyment, allowing you to absorb the atmosphere as intended. This walled nunnery is a quiet, respectful oasis with tree-lined canals, white gabled houses, and a simple church. The central green square is covered with tulips in spring, adding to the atmosphere of reflection and calm.
The Choco-Story Chocolate Museum immerses visitors in the history of cocoa and chocolate: from the Mayans to the Spanish conquerors, and to today's chocolate connoisseurs. The chocolate hunt gives children the opportunity to explore the museum. The chocolate is handmade and tasted in the shop. Want to make your own chocolate? Join the open workshop at 2 PM on Saturdays. If you want to drink chocolate after visiting the museum, we highly recommend the nearby Choco Jungle Bar, just 200 meters from the museum.

Belfly sprl

This medieval belfry, built in the 13th and 15th centuries, is leaning, tilting one meter to the east. The belfry stands 83 meters tall and offers a magnificent view over the quaint town below. If you are so inclined, you can climb the steep and narrow 366 steps to the top, which is quite an experience and not for the faint-hearted, as the stairs get smaller the higher you go. Information about the belfry and the working carillon bells, which chime every four hours for several centuries, can be found on multiple floors, giving you a chance to catch your breath from the arduous climb.

Historium Bruges

Historium offers a one-hour complete experience where film, music, and special effects merge into a magical experience.
