Daqing Iron Man Wang Jinxi Memorial Hall
In 1960, it was Iron Man Wang Jinxi who led the brave oil workers to establish this beautiful city on the wilderness. The entire building of the memorial hall is designed to resemble the Chinese characters for 'worker' when viewed from above, forming the character '工' (gong), and the character '人' (ren) when viewed from the side. The top of the building is shaped like a drill bit. The entire building is 47 meters high, and there are 47 steps from the main entrance to the second-floor platform, symbolizing the extraordinary 47-year life journey of Iron Man.
The interior mainly consists of the Sunshine Hall, the Foyer, 8 permanent exhibition halls, and 1 temporary exhibition hall. It focuses on showcasing the technological innovation and development process of Daqing Oilfield over the past 50 years, the progress in exploration and development technologies, and supporting engineering technologies. With a prominent theme, a combination of dynamic and static displays, and comprehensive functions, it is a large modern professional science and technology museum reflecting petroleum science and technology themes.
