St. Joseph's Church
Feng Yuxiang, Guo Moruo, Zou Taofen, and other literary elders organized anti-Japanese activities here. Many foreigners also gave speeches on anti-Japanese and national salvation here. From the Guangxu period to the present, St. Joseph's Church has a history of over 120 years. Adjacent to the church is the former site of the Xinhua Daily Business Department. It is estimated that the older generation of journalists wrote diligently to the sound of the church, recording the times.
The Kaixuan Road Elevator is actually nothing special, and it might not even be worth a special trip just to see it. However, its commemorative significance outweighs its practical value: it is the first elevator in the country to be used for urban public transportation, and it serves as a link between the lower and upper parts of the city. When you arrive at Kaixuan Road, you are surrounded by the old and clumsy charm of the ancient city; taking the elevator to Xinhua Road, you are greeted by the fashion and prosperity of an international metropolis.
Cultural Street
If you are a literary youth, then you must come here to feel the love in your bones. This is the only dilapidated street near Jiefangbei. If you observe carefully, you will gain a lot.
Gaosheng Wealth Creation Skybridge
One side of the skybridge connects to Kuixinglou Square, and the other side connects to the 22nd floor of Gaosheng Wealth Creation Center Building B. Note, this is the sales center of Gaosheng Wealth Creation! Employees used to take more than 20 minutes to climb the stairs to work here; after the skybridge was built, it takes less than a minute.
