Famen Temple, famous for housing the true relics of Sakyamuni, is also renowned for the many Tang Dynasty treasures unearthed in its underground palace. During the Tang period, on the annual journey of transporting the Buddha's relics from Famen Temple to the imperial palace, many people would crazily cut off their own arms or use their own blood and even lives to welcome and send off the Buddha's relics. Nobles would offer their gold, silver, and jewels in devotion. What exactly drove people to such madness at that time? Famen Temple was extremely prosperous back then but was almost destroyed by a great fire later. Spring is the time when peach blossoms bloom, with pink petals clustering at the treetops. As the flowers fall, the trees grow green leaves and later bear peaches. Entering Famen Temple, despite the presence of Sakyamuni's relics and Tang Dynasty treasures, you will feel the tranquility that this temple brings. Without experiencing both prosperity and desolation, how can one see the truth?
