Shanguai Revolutionary Site
Shanguai Revolutionary Site: Located in Shanguai Village, Shuangmiao Township, Qingfeng County, Henan Province. It includes the Central Plains Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Puyang Shanguai Revolutionary Site, the Northern Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Revolutionary Site, and the Jilu-Yu Military Region Memorial Hall. In September 1944, the Central Plains Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the headquarters of the Jilu-Yu Military Region moved to Shanguai, Qingfeng County. In March 1945, Deng Xiaoping led the Northern Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to the Jilu-Yu border area and also stationed in Shanguai Village. From the spring of 1945 to October 1946, Military Region Political Commissar Deng Xiaoping, Commander Yang Yong, and Song Renqiong and other comrades lived here for as long as a year. During their stay, they not only led the famous Xishan Campaign and the liberation of Yanggu, Fengqiu, and Yanjin, but also actively mobilized the poor farmers in the area to establish peasant governments, leading them in struggles to reduce rent, reduce interest, increase wages, and increase tenancy. They also established a small arms factory here, successfully manufacturing the first cannon in the history of our military's ordnance industry—the Type 92 70mm Infantry Gun, making outstanding contributions to the Chinese revolution.
The Cangjie Tomb site is located in Liangcun Township, Wucun, Nanle County. This place has a temple and some steles. The inscriptions on the steles, written in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties (1627), record the worship of Cangjie 'continuing through the Han and Tang dynasties,' indicating that there have been tomb and temple buildings here since the Han and Tang dynasties. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the tomb underwent large-scale renovations and constructions. Now, only two tombstones from the Ming Qinian period remain. The inscriptions on the front of the tombstones, 'Ancestor of the Three Teachings' and 'Forefather of All Sages,' were respectively written by Li Congxin, Minister of Works, and Li Yangzheng, Minister of Justice, during the Ming dynasty. The two stone pillars in front of the main hall are carved with patterns of two dragons playing with a pearl and fish-dragon motifs. The front is inscribed with: 'Admired by all kings, the era of governance began with knotting ropes to record events, revered by all sages, the creation of writing brought order to the world.' The Cangjie Tomb is built on an ancient cultural site, located on the terrace of the ancient Fanshui River, covering about 4,000 square meters. Archaeological drilling has revealed a layer of Yangshao culture and Longshan culture beneath the Han dynasty layer, fully demonstrating that this place was inhabited by early ancestors in ancient times.
