I haven't been to these places, so it's like coming to Tengchong in vain

Many people don't know that Yunnan also has another equally exciting place: primitive ancient towns, natural hot springs, hot air balloons overlooking volcanoes, ginkgo trees, wetlands, and Burmese style, this is Tengchong.

Heshun Ancient Town

Located in the southwesternmost ancient town of China, it is the seaport of the Silk Road. This town is more like a huge village, surrounded by farmland and lotus ponds, with smoke curling up from the chimneys. The scenery is very beautiful and peaceful, with a paradise-like landscape.

Rehai Big Boiling Pot

Tengchong Rehai has more than 80 hot springs, among which 10 have water temperatures above 90°C. Each spring has its own name, the most famous being the constantly boiling Big Boiling Pot. There is also the Huaitai Spring, which is said to help with conception, and the Beauty Pool, which is said to enhance beauty. Highly recommended are the hot spring eggs, hot spring peanuts, and hot spring corn, which are part of Yunnan's 'Eighteen Oddities' where 'eggs are sold on strings.'

Ginkgo Village

A paradise for photography enthusiasts, the most famous ginkgo viewing spot in the country during autumn. The entire town has not been commercially developed; if it's not a ginkgo haven, it's a quiet little village. The best viewing period is from mid-November to early December. Accommodation is tight during the viewing period, so if you are worried about missing the peak season, you can also contact local inns in advance to get the latest information.

Tengchong Volcanic Geothermal National Geological Park

You don't need to go to Turkey to ride a hot air balloon, come to Tengchong! The Tengchong volcanic group is one of the four major volcanic groups in China, with a total of 97 volcanoes. I've climbed mountains before, and it's not worth the effort compared to the reward. Riding a hot air balloon to see the volcanoes is more enjoyable and cost-effective. However, you need to queue for tickets from 8 AM to 11 AM, and the hot air balloon stops operating at 11 AM sharp every day.

Beihai Wetland

In fact, Beihai Wetland is a large piece of land floating on the surface of the lake. From mid-April to May each year, flowers bloom here, and the endless 'floating continent' resembles a huge colorful flower carpet. The air is filled with the fragrance of grass leaves, the reeds occasionally echo with the quacking of wild ducks, white egrets and black swans fly by from time to time, and in the distance, you can hear the joyful sounds of tourists stepping on the grass rafts for the first time.
In the War of Resistance against Japan, the tombstones of hundreds of thousands of Chinese Expeditionary Force soldiers who fought in Burma were destroyed. Visiting here, one mourns not only the departed souls but also the tragic history. The inscriptions on the tombstones include the names, birthplaces, ranks, and positions of the fallen Nationalist soldiers. They fought bravely, unafraid of sacrifice, and were the first to recapture Tengchong.
