You can play on the golden beach, visit the whale shark aquarium at the Fisherman's Wharf, enjoy the sea view at Yantai Mountain, take a boat to Chang Island to see seabirds, and also drive or ride a horse around the Yama Island. It's the perfect destination for a three to five-day trip, and it's absolutely great for a family vacation!

Golden Beach

The best and cleanest beach in Yantai, the largest beach in northern China, stretching for several kilometers, wide and flat. Located in the Yantai Development Zone, Golden Beach has fewer people and is well-managed, with vendors not allowed to enter, keeping the beach very clean and free of litter. The sand here is golden yellow, ultra-fine and ultra-smooth, and walking barefoot does not feel prickly. The seawater is clear and blue, with many seabirds. The water is very shallow, even after walking 20 meters in, it only reaches just above the knees, and the waves are gentle, making it ideal for children to play in the waves and sand. Looking down, you can see schools of small fish swimming around your legs, which is incomparable to the coastal areas within Liaoning Province. Locals also come here to swim, and older children can learn to swim. Children can use their imagination to build sandcastles and dig moats on the beach, with other kids occasionally joining in the fun, keeping them busy and entertained. Digging in the sand can also uncover small crabs and clams, which is incredibly exciting!

Yantai Mountain Scenic Area

Yantai Mountain is a symbol of Yantai, surrounded by the sea on three sides. Standing at the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire Yantai, making it a great place to view the sea. The scenic area and its surroundings are densely populated with well-preserved modern foreign consulates, foreign firms, villas, and other buildings. The old buildings and sea views in this area are very beautiful, highly recommended for everyone to visit! Hurry up! Bon voyage - Bingxin Memorial Hall, Peking Opera Art Museum, former site of the Danish Consulate, Yongxing Foreign Firm of French Business... Each old building has its unique charm and hidden stories, worth savoring carefully.

Yantai Haichang Whale Shark Pavilion

Yantai Haichang Whale Shark Ocean Park (Haichang Whale Shark Pavilion) is located near Haichang Fisherman's Wharf. You can take the double-decker bus No. 17 to get here, enjoying the sea view along the way, which is breathtaking. The overall design resembles a nautilus, but unfortunately, there is no vantage point nearby to capture a panoramic view. It is the world's first ocean technology museum themed around whale sharks. Visiting the aquarium is a great way to gain knowledge, and it is highly recommended to bring children to see it.

Changdao County

Changdao is an island county belonging to Yantai. Most tourists visiting Yantai will go to Changdao and stay there for a night to enjoy the fisherman's life. Why is Changdao so charming? First, Changdao, also known as Miaodao Archipelago, is a tourism card of Yantai. Its tourism routes and facilities have been well developed and are very popular in the north. People from the northwest come to Yantai Changdao to see the sea. Second, Changdao is filled with the atmosphere of fisherman's life. At the fishing port, you can see busy fishermen at work. Staying in a fisherman's home, you can fully experience the fisherman's life. Almost every household on Changdao runs a fisherman's home, each more hospitable than the last. You can also take your children to the beach to catch seafood. We were truly amazed when we pulled up the cages, finding many crabs, octopuses, starfish, and sea loaches.

Yangmadao Street

Yangmadao is a small peninsula near Binhai East Road in Yantai. It is currently a free attraction, connected to the mainland by a cross-sea bridge, allowing direct car access without parking fees. It is convenient to enter and exit, with beautiful scenery, making it a great place for leisure. Turning right upon entering the island leads to scenic spots, and the buildings on the island are very beautiful. The seawater here is very clear, and the sand on the beach is very fine. The sight of waves crashing against the rocks is spectacular and mesmerizing. Additionally, the island is sparsely populated, with fresh air, ample sunshine, and smooth roads, making it ideal for self-driving or cycling trips. Yangmadao is not large, with a circumference of about 18 kilometers, which can be covered in half a day. Locals usually drive over at noon on weekends, eat seafood at small seaside restaurants, choosing from pots of fresh seafood, which is the best flavor. Afterward, the whole family takes a walk by the sea. There are also picnics with portable barbecue grills, creating a leisurely and pleasant atmosphere. Yangmadao is known for farming sea cucumbers, abalone, and scallops of top quality! Especially the sea cucumbers, which are recognized by people from Jiaodong as the best. Once named 'Royal Horse Island' by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the island has a racetrack for people to watch horse races or experience horseback riding.
