Zhongwei Shapotou Tourist Area
Shapotou combines desert, Yellow River, mountains, and oasis, featuring the uniqueness of the northwest and the beauty of the south. The main objects of protection are desert natural landscapes, natural sand vegetation, sand control scientific research achievements, wildlife resources, the ancient Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, the ringing sand dunes, and other cultural landscapes and their natural complexes.
Western Xia Imperial Tombs
The Western Xia Imperial Tombs, also known as the Western Xia Emperor's Mausoleum or the Western Xia Royal Mausoleum, are the burial sites of the emperors and royalty of the Western Xia dynasty. The mausoleum is located in the western part of Yinchuan City, Ningxia, flanked by the Helan Mountains to the west and the Yinchuan Plain to the east, with an elevation ranging from 1130 meters to 1200 meters. It is one of the largest and most well-preserved imperial mausoleums in China and an important site for the preservation of Western Xia culture. The scenic area is divided into four attractions: Gunzhongkou, Western Xia Imperial Tombs, Baisikou, and the Three Passes of the Ancient Great Wall.
Zhenbeibao Western Film City is characterized by its ancient, primitive, rugged, desolate, and traditional folk customs. The main attractions include Ming City, Qing City, Old Yinchuan, and several other film shooting locations. It has been awarded titles such as National Cultural Industry Demonstration Base and National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Project Protection and Development Comprehensive Experimental Base.
Helan Mountain Rock Art Scenic Area
In ancient times, Helan Mountain was a place where northern ethnic minorities such as the Xiongnu, Xianbei, Turks, Uyghurs, Tibetans, and Tanguts lived, hunted, and thrived. They carved scenes of their daily lives onto the rock walls of Helan Mountain to express their longing and pursuit of a better life, reflecting the aesthetic tastes and social customs of that time.
Shuidonggou Tourist Area
The unique Yadan landform of Donggou, crafted by nature, features over twenty extraordinary landscapes such as Devil's City, Whirlwind Cave, Lying Camel Ridge, Sky Cliff, Broken Cloud Valley, and Strange Willow Valley, recording traces of human activity from 30,000 years ago.
