Dayu Valley
In Yuhang, Hangzhou, there is a piece of pure land, which is Dayu Valley. The numerous reservoirs and lakes with rippling blue waves in the mountain valleys add charm to the autumn of Dayu Valley. In the valley, there are only green mountains and clear waters; apart from the sounds of birds, insects, and roosters, no noise can be heard. Most importantly, it is 216 kilometers away from Shanghai, less than a 3-hour drive.
Changle Forest Farm, located next to Dayu Valley, is home to many tall camphor, fir, maple, and cedar trees. In autumn, the forest is painted with a rich palette of red, yellow, and green hues. As it is a forest farm, there are few inhabitants, and after an autumn breeze, the tree-lined paths are covered with a thick layer of fallen leaves. Walking on them feels like a scene from a European town in a movie, creating a sense of surrealism.
The ancient ginkgo corridor in Badujie (pronounced 'jie') of Changxing County, Huzhou, is one of the top ginkgo areas in East China in terms of tree age and area. Badujie is the oldest ginkgo village in China. The ten-mile ancient ginkgo forest has stood proudly for over a thousand years, surrounded by overlapping mountains. Various residential buildings are nestled among the ginkgo trees, with the sounds of chickens and dogs heard in the background.
Ji Dong Xuedou Ridge
Xuedou Ridge is located in the mountainous area of Jidong Town in the southern part of Keqiao District. In the past, it was a necessary pass from Jidong to Longfeng. The ancients built a mountain road along the stream, which is about three kilometers long and is still well preserved. This place is located in a canyon, with ancient Torreya trees scattered on both sides of the mountain, making Xuedou Ridge appear more primitive and profound.
Taoyinling Ancient Path
In the late autumn season of Shaoxing, a nearby mountain ancient path is surrounded by fiery maple forests, with the mountains covered in red, resembling a beautiful painting. It's definitely worth a visit on a free weekend. Many people are familiar with the Shangqing Ancient Path, but nearby there is a very hidden Taoyinling Ancient Path, located between Miaoyantou in Xinlian Village, Wangtan Town, Keqiao District, and Jinyu'ao in Pingshui Town. Locals also refer to it as Taoyanling Ancient Path or Taoyuanling Ancient Path.
Shijing Reservoir
Shijing Reservoir is a small reservoir surrounded by mountains, offering a very tranquil environment. Its unique feature is the Metasequoia forest at the end of the reservoir. When you drive to the edge of the reservoir, you will see an unpaved dirt road. Do not stop there; continue driving along the winding path for one to two kilometers, and you will reach this hidden gem.
