Shanghai Oriental Art Center
It is a 7-8 minute walk from the Science and Technology Museum subway station. The bamboo mat-like wall facade inside the art center is very distinctive. There are often small concerts and performances held there, with ticket prices more affordable for the general public compared to larger concert halls and theaters.
Shanghai Grand Theatre consists of several theatres. The Grand Theatre is probably the largest theatre for performances in Shanghai. It has three levels and some private boxes. The last row on the third level generally sells public welfare tickets for around 80 yuan, though prices may vary slightly depending on the performance. The acoustics are excellent, and staff members supervise the entire venue to ensure minimal noise interference. Tickets for the smaller theatres are generally priced at 120 or 150 yuan, with many suspense plays being performed. The seats offer a clear view of the stage.

Shanghai Centre Theatre
The entire building looks very grand and beautiful, luxurious but not vulgar. The sound effects are also superb, and the people around are very well-mannered when watching. It is indeed a great place to listen to plays in Shanghai.
Tianchan Yifu Theatre
This is a great place to experience traditional Chinese opera. Most of the seats offer good production quality and visibility, and it's not too expensive. Definitely worth a visit. Currently, smoking is prohibited throughout the entire theatre.
Magnolia Theater
The theater is not very large, so the stage is close and easy to see. It is a relatively traditional theater, and the performances are updated relatively quickly.
