Suomenlinna
Located on the inner side of the Helsinki Bay, Suomenlinna is a former military fortress that was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. The military atmosphere here is not so strong; on the contrary, because the Nordic Art Center is located here, artists prefer to engage in some creative activities on the island.
Sibelius Park was established in 1945 to commemorate the 80th birthday of Jean Sibelius, the father of Finnish music. The giant organ in Sibelius Park is the main highlight. When the wind blows, this 'organ' produces melodious and mystical sounds that harmonize with the surrounding flowers, plants, and trees.
At the entrance of the museum stands a stone bear statue, which has become one of the symbols of the National Museum of Finland. The ceiling of the museum's entrance hall features a large mural inspired by the epic poem 'Kalevala' by Akseli Gallen-Kallela. It is magnificent and highly valuable for appreciation, making it a must-see treasure of the museum.
Located in front of the Senate Square, Helsinki Cathedral is the most famous building in Helsinki. Its green dome is very eye-catching and can be seen from any corner of the city. This magnificent white building with a green dome is also known as the 'White Church'.
