When renting a car, I didn't notice that my ICBC credit card doesn't have a chip. What should I do? ?

Can be used, not necessarily need chip card. I just came back using it.

With either a Visa or a Mastercard, magnetic strip cards can be used.

I rented a car multiple times, and all of them were using magnetic stripe cards.

If it is a dual-currency card and the other party can swipe, there is no problem. But it is said that many places only recognize chip cards.

Many foreign currency cards do not have chips. The three foreign currency cards in my hand do not have chips. In addition, I went to some banks' websites to see the application for credit cards, and there were no chips for foreign currency ones.

Do you need a chip card? I only have a magnetic stripe card, and there's nowhere to indicate that I need a chip card.I just called the Edinburgh car dealership, and they said it was okay to use a magnetic stripe card as long as it had a three-digit PIN code on the back. That makes sense, because online pre-authorization only requires a number.

Thank you! The local car rental I previously booked with only accepts chip cards, and after seeing many negative reviews, I am not confident and plan to cancel and switch to a larger company, which seems to accept magnetic stripe cards.
