Just finished Road trip. It is suggested to stay at 17 Mile and stay for one night. After playing at 17 Mile the next day, you can directly go to Carmel without retracing your steps. The second night we booked Solvang, but personally recommend that you can book a motel on the spot along the way. There are many of them. If you stay in Solvang, the time is a bit tight.
