We drove from Toronto to Montreal, Quebec, Kingston, and just got back to Toronto today. There's nothing special to pay attention to. It's just that there are no traffic lights when turning left at a crossroads, and we only abide by the first-come-first-served principle. Good manners are the most important.

Pedestrians are the first priority. Cars must yield to pedestrians. When you see a "Stop" sign, you must stop for at least 3 seconds, and at a "Stop 4 way" intersection, you must follow the order of arrival to pass. When you see a triangular sign, you must slow down and observe before proceeding. Right-turning vehicles must yield to straight vehicles. Highways have speed limits, but many cars actually exceed the speed limit. Be sure to follow traffic rules. Look up some traffic signs and you will generally understand.
