One more question, do you need to leave a tip when eating in Germany? If you have to, how do you usually do it ?

Just round it up, it's okay if you don't give it.

I didn't give any. Many are included in the price of food.

I asked local friends and they said generally give 5-10% rounded up.

In regular restaurants, you can leave a small tip of around 10%. Just round up the bill. I think you don't need to leave a tip at McDonald's. Generally, you can just leave the small change as a tip for the hardworking staff. It's not easy for part-time workers.
