There are three ways to leave the island, the northernmost of which is by bridge, and the other two are by ferry. The one to Mallaig is the southernmost, and can only be reached by ferry, which takes about half an hour. There are more ferry services, from Inverness to Skye to Mallaig. If you don't want to go back the way you came, take the ferry. There are more cars in the peak season.
