I previously rented a car in San Francisco, and landed at the San Francisco International Airport. I didn't encounter anyone from the reception desk, but looking at the signs, my friends should be able to find the second or third floor on their own. There is a car rental shuttle station, just take the shuttle to get there. After getting off, there is the Hertz reception desk, and you can find the others by looking at the signs. After finding the location of your reserved car rental, show them your driver's license. Remember that when registering other drivers, he or she needs to be present. Interestingly, my contract said that it did not include adding additional drivers, but whatever. After completing the process, just take the elevator down to the parking lot to pick up the car. The key is in the car, and no one will ask you, you can just drive away. Just remember to show the contract to the guard when leaving. Returning the car is also very convenient, just drive in and they will check it. FYI: You must have a navigation system, as American addresses are very clear. With navigation, you will get there easily, but if you try to navigate yourself, you will probably end up in tears.
