The road conditions are good. There are many bends in the mountains but they are not steep. Just drive slowly and try to avoid driving at night.

Drive Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai is very good, but be very careful on the expressway bends. If you can't keep a speed of more than 120 km, don't take the inner lane. The expressway in Thailand has sharp bends, narrow lanes, and a certain slope, which is quite technical!
