Last time I saw the punishment list, it seems like losing a lot of blood if you don't turn on the lights! Why go to court? Can't you just pay the money directly?

Pay up or go to court. If you have a reasonable explanation in court, the ticket may be waived.

If you rent a car, just tell the rental company that there will be a fine amount, and you will pay according to that. It will be deducted from the deposit.
