Just came back from Chiang Rai. On the way there, it was a visa on arrival. Although I prepared 4000 RMB, I was not checked. Visa on arrival was also very fast. Fill in the information and hand it to him. It only took 5 minutes. Those who don't want to fill in the information can directly hand over 100 RMB and the passport, and it will be done immediately.

In general, they don't check. If you give 200 baht as a tip upon landing for VIP, they definitely won't check. But in many places in Thailand, they want cash. Eating, drinking, and playing can cost several thousand baht, so it's definitely a good idea to bring some cash in RMB.

Always been 20,000 baht for a family, but we've never been checked. It's still better to bring enough in case.

No one is there to control you. The water at the Thai border cannot be any more lenient.

Visa on arrival: 20,000. Tourist visa: 40,000.
