Europe doesn't really need it, it's up to your mood. Unlike the US, any service industry must tip.

Depending on my mood, if the service is good, I'll give a little extra. If not, that's fine. No need to tip at an ice cream or coffee shop, don't waste your money.

Europe is usually given 5%, 5-10, they restaurant waiter has a considerable part of income from tips, unless you are really not satisfied with the service. But Europe does not require guests to give. Generally speaking, the change can be regarded as a tip left in the bill dish.

Just swipe the card, it's no big deal if you don't want to give it.

Especially for good restaurants, general coffee shops and afternoon tea, ice cream, etc., leaving some change is enough.
