It shouldn't be possible. I finally ordered it on Taobao, and they sometimes have it. Definitely need to order first, it's well worth seeing.

You can get tickets by refreshing the official website of the Forbidden City every day. Go there directly and queue up before 9 a.m., and only a few scattered tickets will be available.
