Don't go to Patong Seafood if you rent a car in Phuket. Go to Rawai instead. You can negotiate the price from 3000 baht to 1800 baht. There is a Mook dee restaurant in Rawai market. It has two stores. It is the place where local people in Phuket go to eat.

To be honest, Rawai is not cheaper than Patong. I have been to both places and the quality and variety in Patong are better. Rawai only has a few fish stalls and it's not possible to bargain for a two-thirds discount. Patong has been improved now and the prices are not expensive. The processing is also better in Patong. I have been to Phuket twice and have eaten seafood many times. I hope this helps you.
