Pay attention to the parking signs. Basically, there's no charge. We only paid for parking once during the entire New Zealand trip, and after paying, we walked 50 meters and saw a very empty free parking lot. The car didn't move at all during our stay in Auckland, and we parked it in the hotel.

If you are on the South Island/including Christchurch and Dunedin这两个主要大城市, other almost anywhere does not have parking fees... The only exception is Queenstown When it comes to dinner time, Queenstown parking spaces are very hard to find, I suggest you haven't dark yourself best go reconnaissance, can stop for more than an hour on the side of the road, like parking on the sidewalk, there will be a metal parking meter on every street, insert a credit card, and then follow the instructions, when it shows that you let you take it out and insert it with the magnetic stripe on the back, you insert it again, the parking fee for one hour is 4.5 New Zealand dollars.

There is free parking , if the sign has 15 or 60 it means you can park for free for 15 minutes or 1 hour, if overcharged you have to pay, and the charge is based on the length of time you park. You can try to park for free
