Signal problems are common in high places. Make sure to download Google offline maps in advance. British phone cards can be bought on Taobao, don't be tempted by cheap ones, as the cheaper phone cards have very poor signals. I recommend Vodafone. Offline maps are very important. The first thing you should do when you arrive in the UK is to download offline maps.
