I have been to several countries in Southeast Asia several times and have never encountered credit card fraud. I withdraw money at the airport, 7-11, large shopping malls, and banks using ATMs. I only use my card at large shopping malls, chain hotels, and 7-11. For restaurants, small shops, and budget hotels, I prefer to use cash, and there should be no problem.
