Hello, I would like to ask if you rent a car in Johor Bahru without a local driver's license? Why do people here say that even with a translated driver's license, you can still be fined by the police ?

I don't have a local driver's license. If the car rental company dares to rent and the insurance company dares to compensate, I will drive according to the rules. What is there to be afraid of?

Because Malaysian police can be corrupt and find various reasons to fine you, so either avoid them or just give them 50-100 voluntarily and they will let you go.

Because the translated document is not an international driver's license and is not recognized, it's just the car rental company renting a car to you!
