Travelling with a 10-year-old child by car in Germany and Austria, is it necessary to have a child seat ?

My 7-year-old bought a booster seat on Taobao and brought it over. It seems that anyone below 145 cm needs a car seat.

Bring a booster cushion (costing only dozens of yuan in China). My grandson used one at the age of 5 and we traveled to 9 countries in America and Europe, all complying with safety regulations. Most European countries require that children under the age of 14 or those shorter than 1.5 meters use a child seat or a booster cushion. Note that the regulation uses the word "or". Children taller than 1.5 meters can use seat belts directly, regardless of their age.

What should be, Europe is strict about this.
