I am driving in Germany and Austria. The traffic regulations require children to sit in safety seats, but I have two children in the back seat and also need to accommodate an adult. If I put two safety seats, I'm worried there won't be enough space in the back. I rented a BMW 5 touring car. Are the electronic eyes in Europe very strict? I want to remove the safety seats on the highway, but I don't know if it's allowed ?

Need to be careful and not take chances. Also, Germans drive very fast. Safety should be a concern

Not possible to rent a 9-seater car, but parking may be a bit difficult to find.

Do not think with a domestic mindset

The simplest way is to change to a 7-seater MPV. It's uncomfortable to have three people in the back seat.

In Germany, children under the age of 12 must sit in a child seat, and adults in the back seat must also wear a seat belt. So it is recommended to change at least to a MPV like Touran, with three independent seats in the back, which can be more comfortable.

If the child is very young, the front seat safety seat can be installed backwards.
