I want to ask if any friends in the group have transited from an international flight to Bangkok and then connected to a domestic flight to Phuket, and if they chose the electronic visa on arrival when they arrived in Bangkok. Is it fast to get the electronic visa on arrival when transiting from an international flight to a domestic flight? I will arrive in Bangkok for the first stop and then transfer to Phuket one hour and forty minutes later. Can I use the electronic visa on arrival for this situation ?

You need to make it clear that you first enter the country, then go to the domestic flight in Thailand. I have been to both airports in Bangkok. The entry and domestic flight security checks are not in the same place. This has nothing to do with your landing and transfer. I have never seen a shortcut. No matter what, you have to go through customs first.
Time is too short, need to exit first, then change boarding passes, and then go through security to enter the boarding gate. It is best to have a paper visa.
My itinerary is the same as yours, but you have reserved too little time. If the customs clearance takes longer or if the flight is delayed, your schedule will be very tight.
