Borrowed a diesel version of a golf, the car alarm prompted to add adblue, I bought a can at the gas station and added it, but the alarm hasn't disappeared yet. Did I not add enough ?

Ad blue is not out of oil, but to add something to the blue lid beside the fuel tank cap. I haven't encountered it specifically, but it is said to be urea.
AdBlue is an additive used to reduce emissions from diesel vehicles, with a ratio of 3-5% to diesel. The alarm will not be immediately disabled after adding, you need to drive for a while, and the alarm will not sound after being fully mixed.
