I arrived around 4:30 in the morning, took about an hour and a half to clear customs, downloaded the visa application form and two photos (only used one in reality), printed the return flight ticket (better to print it in advance), at least one night's hotel accommodation receipt (better to print it), and 2000 yuan per person for backup (better to prepare just in case, I saw two foreigners being checked when I passed through customs today). It's not cost-effective to exchange money at the airport, I saw it was only 3.8.
