Before reaching Zermatt, there is about 40km of mountain road. You cannot drive to Zermatt, only to Tasch.

The road is mostly mountainous, and may be closed if it snows. It's usually easy to drive. From Tasch to Zermatt, you can only park your car in Tasch and enter and exit by train. The car is parked at the train station.

Zurich is in the north, Zermatt is in the south, and in between are Lucerne and Interlaken. I suggest going from Zurich to Lucerne to Interlaken to the Jungfrau or Zermatt to the French town of Evian to Chillon Castle to Geneva to Lausanne to Bern and back to Zurich in a circular route in the central and western parts, without retracing your steps. I haven't been from the Jungfrau to Zermatt, but I've been to the others, mostly on the highway.
