Suhua Highway has been demonized. Is it really that dangerous ?

July and August are typhoon and rainy seasons. There is always a danger of rockfalls on the Su'ao-Hualien Highway during heavy rain, and no one can say exactly what the probability is, so it's not demonization. The event that just happened in June is a typical example.
The drive along the Suhua Highway should be fine. It's more dangerous to ride a bike.

Slow down especially when going downhill, it's very safe. It's just a rumour spread by some people. There may be falling rocks during strong winds and heavy rain, but they really do happen.
