There are still many gas stations on California Highway 1. The most expensive one I remember is the Big Sur section. I suggest filling up the tank at the beginning of the drive on California Highway 1.I also highly recommend an app called Gas Buddy, which is available for both Android and IOS. It's really useful. It can help you locate gas stations in real time and find the ones near you. You can choose the price or type of fuel according to your needs, and then use Google Map for navigation.

The gas stations are everywhere. There are gas stations near the highway exits, so you can easily re-enter the highway after refueling without going too far. Each gas station has clean water and a windshield scraper for long-distance drivers to clean the small insect bodies off the windshield (there is a scraper and soap water in that blue plastic box), so as not to affect the driver's line of sight. Tourists with international credit cards cannot use them, but those with American bank cards can swipe their cards directly at the self-service machines just like locals do, because the card swiping machines at gas stations require the input of the cardholder's American address zip code. It's okay, you can first go to the counter to pay with $100 cash or directly add a fixed amount of $40 worth of gas, for example, our car's tank is filled with $48 worth of gas, so we estimate accordingly.

I do not recommend refueling there, the gas on Highway 1 is very expensive, about twice as much as other places.
