Introduction

The Palacio Arzobispal de Lima, located in Lima, is a Roman Catholic cathedral with a construction history dating back to 1535. It wasn't until 1625 that the church was actually completed. Despite multiple repairs and renovations, the church still maintains the architectural structure and appearance of the colonial era and has become an iconic landmark in Lima. The current building, designed by Polish architect Francisco Pizarro and considered one of the best examples of early 20th-century new colonial architecture in Lima, was completed on December 8, 1924.
