Introduction

The fountain in Grant Park is one of the largest in the world and is an iconic building in Chicago. The fountain has a volume of 5,600 cubic meters and was the largest sculptural and lighting fountain created at the time. The main body consists of three circular pools, representing the nearby Lake Michigan, and the surrounding seahorses represent the four states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The fountain typically sprays water from mid-April to mid-October and is accompanied by colorful lights and music every night from 9:00 to 23:00.
