Introduction

Downtown Las Vegas used to be a gambling hub before the famous Las Vegas Strip became the concentrated area for casinos. Before that, it had a lot of hotels, companies, cultural centers, old buildings, and government departments, as well as residences and retail businesses. Although it is no longer as prosperous today, it is still worth a visit to experience the history and past glory of Vegas. Fremont Street is the center of the downtown area.
