Introduction
Thousand Islands is located near Kingston, southwest of Ottawa, Canada, and was formed during the Ice Age. It is a lake connected to the Atlantic Ocean and contains 1,865 islands of various sizes. The lake is divided into the north and south shores by water boundary lines. The south shore belongs to New York State, USA, and each household has an American flag, while the north shore is part of Ontario, Canada, and most households have both Canadian and American flags. Among the 1,865 islands, two-thirds belong to Canada, while the islands owned by the US are generally larger and have more deep water channels leading to the Great Lakes, which are composed of five lakes on the Canada-US border: Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, and Lake Huron. In the Ivy Lea area of Thousand Islands, an international bridge connects the United States and Canada, stretching across the lake like a natural rainbow, adding vibrant colors to the Thousand Islands.
